Tim and Kirsti were here! They stayed around the corner at the Rauser Radisson and we spent as much time with them as we could. They are so wonderful and it was delightful to be together. Friday we ate dinner here, and Saturday we had a full turkey feast at my mom's.

As you can see from these pictures, my children fell in love with them. At one point Henry actually said, "Tell us another story, Tim!" Tim brought him a photo of himself in full motorcycle gear, and told the story of the picture, and Henry was enthralled. Kirsti read books and talked and played with both kids. I was so happy to see my children connect with them-- both for their own sakes, because of their wonderfulness, and because it gives a taste of the extended family that I so valued growing up. I miss the noisy dinners at Grandma and Grandpa's house. I remember the warm, safe feeling of hearing the hubbub of voices laughing and talking as I fell asleep on the couch in the living room, and when I tucked Henry in on Friday evening I heard the same happy rumble of voices downstairs. It took me a bit by surprise how special it felt to see Henry crawl contentedly into Tim's lap (something he just rarely does) or cuddle with Kirsti. I miss my dad.

I just got back from 5 full days in San Francisco with my friend,Sue. We had a wonderful time--did so much, including Napa Wine country, Alcataz, Grace Cathedral where we attended a service, de Young Museum and flower conservatory and attended Wicked at the Orpheum Theater--all great stuff and much more. It was great to see your family pictures with Tim and Kirsti in them--how warm and wonderful. I miss all of you and your dad too. Love, Auntie Grace
