Agatha's words

Agatha's vocabulary is growing rapidly, and she can repeat pretty much anything we say. When she wants to be picked up, she now says "Mama, hi-ya, hi-ya!" which she adopted from my mom, who says "Hi-YA" when she lifts up the heavy Aggie. She wants to do everything Henry does, and Henry pretty much goes along with it as long as his portion of everything is slightly bigger than hers. The toddler's favorite word, NO, is also a very important word to her. She's entering that phase where no is the first answer to every question, and where reverse psychology becomes a crucial parenting skill. Unfortunately, she has also learned many words from her brother. These include: gun, bullet, ninja, and Poop-Butt. She also says, "Daddy, Apes!" and tries to get Michael to hide with her, in imitation of Henry's ambush game adapted from Planet of the Apes. Tonight at dinner Agatha was agitating for Henry's stuffed alligator, which had been a bone of contention earlier. We were trying to distract her, so I handed her the stuffed cow to hug and sit beside her while she ate. "Cow! Hug cow! Moo!" she said, and then addressed herself again to her soup and crackers. "Soup. Dip. Dip Cow?" she suggested. "No, no, don't dip Cow!" Henry thought that was just hilarious.

Adorable! She is amazing. Isn't it the sweetest feeling, watching Henry and Aggie develop their own relationship?
