Pointing
We feel a little guilty for not reading to Agatha as much as we did to Henry at this age. The general family hubbub gets in the way, plus she's just more easy to amuse so we don't have to think as much for things to do with her. The other day I came into the living room and she had the Richard Scarry book (you know the one) open to the endpaper and was delicately pointing at the tiny pictures of ladybugs, spools, and so on-- that's when I knew I had to do better. (Pointing is a new favorite activity; she's very precise with her little finger.) So we're trying to read to her more. Right now, her preference is for books with photographs of people and animals in them. This is another way she's different from Henry-- he was much more interested in pictures of machines. For months, the only book in his world was "Things That Go." He still loves it!

I've also been feeling a bit guilty about not reading to Agatha or doing some of the other things I did with Henry. I'm trying to make up for it! Agatha is such a happy little girl, so interested in everything around her so it is easy not to do the extra things. I vow to be better about that!
I do love the fact that she has definite opinions! If she doesn't want to do something, there is no persuading her! In that way, she is very much a Rauser/Clapper child!
When she is looking at books, she loves pictures of people and especially babies, animals, real objects but not machines. She is a very bright, happy little girl and such a joy! I'm so fortunate to be able to see her every day!
