Overheard in the car on the way to camp today:
Henry: If you have water but no food, you can go like two weeks. If you have food but no water, you can only go like three days. And if you have food AND water, you can go a long, long time!
Agatha: Yeah, till the end of your life!
H: At the end of your life you'll die. Mommy and Daddy will die before us because they are older than us. And I'll die before you because I'm older than you.
A: And then I'll be lonely!
H: No, because you'll have children.
A: Yeah, I'll have children. Mommy, you'll be little again then, when I'm old, right?
H: No, she'll be dead.

Whew, there was no sugar-coating on that discussion. Love, Auntie Grace!!!
Amazing! Gabriel assumed the same thing, that adults go backwards and forwards in time, and when he is an adult we will be children. Frances also disabused him of that idea.
Whew is right, Auntie Grace.
I'm not sure Aggie is wrong. In any event, this whole transcript has blown my mind.
Yes, Aggie has talked with me about this on many occasions; she believes that when she is big I will get small and she will care for me, and she also thinks she used to be big before. When she hears stories about when I was little, she thinks she was there, too. She does not believe time runs only in one direction. I hope she is right!
